Meet at Thessaloniki’s “Macedonia” Airport. Flight to Athens at 7:40 a.m., arriving at 8:35 a.m. Flight to Tel Aviv at 9:20 a.m., arriving at 11:20 a.m. Passport control and baggage claim. Departure for Lydda to venerate the tomb of St. George. We will then proceed to the Old City of Jerusalem. Pilgrimage to the Holy Sepulchre, Golgotha, and the Descent from the Cross. Guided tour of the church’s chapels. Return to the hotel, check-in, and dinner. Overnight stay.
Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. Departure for the Monastery of Martha and Mary in Bethany and the Tomb of Lazarus. We will proceed to the Jordan River, on the border with Jordan, for a symbolic baptism at the site of Christ’s baptism. Departure for the Jericho area and Mount Sarantario or Mount of Temptation. Stop and visit at the Monastery of Saint Gerasimos, where we will have time for coffee and a rest. Return to the hotel and dinner. Overnight stay.
Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. Pilgrimage to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. We will visit the cave where Christ was born and the manger. Pilgrimage to the Monastery of the Shepherds and the Shepherds’ Cave. Pilgrimage to the Monastery of Saint Savvas, with special small buses, the only sanctuary off-limits to women. We continue to the Holy Monastery of Saint Theodosius and will see the cave of the Magi. Return to the hotel and dinner.
Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. We will depart for the city of Jerusalem. Free time for a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and for shopping. We will follow the Way of the Cross. Pilgrimage to the Praetorium and Christ’s temporary prison. Pilgrimage to the house of Joachim and Anne and the house where the Virgin Mary was born. We continue to Gethsemane and the Tomb of the Virgin Mary, the Garden of Betrayal, and the Church of All Nations. We will proceed to the Mount of Olives, the actual site of the Ascension, and the panoramic view of Jerusalem. Return to the hotel, dinner. Overnight stay.
Wake-up call and breakfast at the hotel. We will visit the Monastery of the Cross, where Lot planted the tree that became the True Cross. We will proceed to the city of Jerusalem and venerate the tomb of Saint Melania at the Monastery of the Great Virgin Mary. We continue to the Monastery of Saint Ananias and the Metochi of Gethsemane. Free time for a visit to the Holy Sepulchre and shopping. We depart for the airport. Flight to Athens at 7:10 p.m. and arrival at 9:20 p.m. Flight to Thessaloniki at 11:25 p.m. and arrival at 12:40 a.m. (End of program)
